 | In August 1998, Allstate Exploration agreed to license BacTech's bioleaching technology for use at its Beaconsfield Mine in Tasmania, Australia. The plant was completed on time and on budget, with commissioning occurring in November, 1999. Beaconsfield was the second commercial plant licensed by BacTech at the time.
The Beaconsfield plant is still in operation today and produces approximately 110,000 ounces of gold per annum from an arsenopyrite ore body.
